Program Curriculum
The Network Administration & Security Professional (NASP) program focuses on establishing a set of skills encompassing the key areas of networking and the Internet. This includes hardware, network operation, network operating system software, network protocols and infrastructure, routers and network security.
The curriculum is designed to develop job-ready knowledge and business and technical skills:
Business skills—business communications, leadership, project management, organizational development, conflict management and technical/business writing
Technical skills—Computer and network fundamentals, security analysis and system protection, infrastructure design and implementation, virtualization and diverse operating system knowledge

Course Descriptions
Installing and Configuring Windows 7 Clients
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to install, upgrade, and migrate to
Windows 7 clients. Students then configure Windows 7 clients for network connectivity, security, maintenance, and mobile computing.
This course prepares students to write the Microsoft Certification
Exam 70-680: Windows 7, Configuring.
Configuring, Managing, and Maintaining Windows Server 2008 Servers
This course combines content from the Network Infrastructure Technology Specialist, Active Directory Technology Specialist, and IT Professional Server Administrator courses of Windows Server 2008 to provide students with the knowledge and skills that are required to manage accounts and resources, maintain server resources, monitor server performance, and safeguard data in a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 environment. This course covers the core skills required by anyone working with Windows Server 2008 servers.
Configuring and Troubleshooting a Windows 2008 Network Infrastructure
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to configure and troubleshoot a Windows Sever 2008 network infrastructure. Students learn to implement and configure secure network access and implement fault-tolerant storage technologies. Students gain an understanding of the network technologies most commonly used with Windows Server 2008 and IP-enabled networks. Students also learn how to secure servers and maintain update compliance.
Configuring and Troubleshooting Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Domain Services This course provides Active Directory technology specialists with the knowledge and skills to configure Active Directory Domain Services in a distributed environment, implement Group Policies, perform backup and restore, and monitor and troubleshoot Active Directory related issues.
Security+
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to begin supporting network security within an organization. Students who complete this course will be able to identify security threats and vulnerabilities and assist with responding to and recovering from security incidents. This course will cover security concepts that are prerequisites for attending other Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) courses for security specialists and help prepare the student for the CompTIA Security+ exam. Although the course focuses on Microsoft product- and technology-specific implementation of security concepts, many of these concepts can be applied to other technologies.
This course prepares students to write the CompTIA Security+ Certification Exam.
A+
The course provides you with the necessary PC hardware and operating systems knowledge and skills to understand, plan, organize, troubleshoot, and maintain Intel-based computing systems. This course prepares students to take the: CompTIA A+
Essentials
Certification Exam; and CompTIA A+
Practical Application
Certification Exam.
Network+
This course is designed to prepare students for CompTIA's Network+ Exam N10-004. Earning the Network+ Certification means that students have the knowledge needed to use and maintain a wide range of network technologies.
