Program Format and Curriculum

100% Online Courses

The UBC Award of Achievement in Web Analytics is delivered comprehensively in four 100% online part-time courses. Each course is run over approximately four weeks and participants should plan to spend an average of six to ten hours per week in each four-week course reading case studies and white papers as well as completing online reading, online discussions and independent study. Assessments are based on assignments and individual projects that have scheduled completion dates.

For more information about online learning click here.

Required Courses

To obtain a UBC Award of Achievement in Web Analytics, you must take all four courses, but courses may also be taken individually. The suggested sequence is Introduction to Web Analytics, Web Analytics for Site Optimization, Measuring Marketing Campaigns Online, and Creating and Managing the Analytical Business Culture, as there will be some information from previous courses that assists in the learning for later courses within the series. Each course is delivered over four weeks.

Experience with a web analytics reporting tool is recommended, before taking the courses, as the curriculum does not address the "hands on" elements of working with a specific tool.

Web Analytics Association (WAA) Member Discount: This applies only to Professional and Corporate WAA members and requires a coupon code obtained through the membership section of the WAA website.

NOTE: Once a session is full, no wailist or further registrations will be taken. Please check our website often for last-minute seat cancellations and additional sessions. Courses fill very quickly, so please register as soon as possible to reserve your space. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

"The demand for improving web site profitability through visitor analysis is global and exploding, because every single business with a web site can benefit from it. The problem we're faced with as an industry is the demand for people with these business-oriented web analytics skills far outstrips the number of people with the skills, because it has been difficult for people to acquire these skills − there was no business-oriented web analytics training available in an accessible, packaged, structured, and practical format. The web analytics Award of Achievement Program the WAA created with UBC fills this void perfectly by drawing on the talent of web analytics experts throughout the world to teach practical, hands-on material people can put to use immediately."

Co-Chair, Education Committee
